Excellence in Risk Management VII
The top 10 risks, new regulatory requirements, enterprise risk management—these issues and more are explored in the seventh annual Excellence in Risk Management report from Marsh and the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS).
Two years of global financial crisis have intensified the spotlight on risk management. One result of the renewed scrutiny from regulators and other stakeholders is that many companies no longer view enterprise risk management (ERM) as just a “nice to have.” Still, the Excellence survey found that many organizations are struggling to define ERM for their own firms and to overcome embedded barriers to its adoption—whether it’s called ERM or strategic risk management.
Excellence VII also looks at companies responses to a new rule from the Securities and Exchange Commission; differing views on risk issues from risk managers, C-suite executives, and finance professionals; risk management’s role in developing business strategy; and more.
The 2010 Excellence report—“Elevating the Practice of Strategic Risk Management”—captures the views of risk practitioners and their C-suite colleagues on the barriers and opportunities surrounding strategic risk management today.
